Long-term stocks to purchase: ICICI Securities’ Pankaj Pandey suggests these five stocks, with an upside of 22–54% anticipated

Long-term stocks to purchase: The Nifty 50 index has recently gained, but it is still down 10.5% from its peak. For long-term growth, analysts advise purchasing high-quality stocks, pointing to five that have significant upside potential.

Long-term stocks investment: The Indian stock market’s main index, the Nifty 50, has recently experienced strong selling pressure. The index is currently 10.5% lower than when it peaked on September 27 of this year at 26,277.35.

Long-term stocks: The Nifty 50 broke its seven-session losing streak by closing the previous session with a slight gain of 0.28 percent. Is this an indication that the worst is coming to an end?

According to Pankaj Pandey, head of market research at ICICI Securities, the selling intensity has decreased, resulting in less severe incremental pain. To be sure that the worst is over, we must see a follow-up to this.

Long-term stocks: The Nifty 50 will need strong December-quarter (Q3) profits and more news about ordering and tendering, Pandey noted, in order to regain the 26,000 milestone.

“A number of variables came together to make the second quarter (Q2) unusually terrible. Nonetheless, a notable improvement is expected in the third quarter of the year (Q3). Confidence may be further increased if Q3 shows promising results and, following the state elections, details regarding ordering and tenders starts to surface. The Nifty 50 might be able to reach those types of heights at that point, according to Pandey.

Long-term stocks: Since October, foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) have been selling Indian stocks. In the past, when the year-end holiday season draws near, FPIs usually sell emerging market stocks. Pandey, however, is hopeful that this tendency may soon reverse.

“The US election made this year unique, and some of the changes that were expected are now happening. Prior to the election results, the US debt market had begun to account for increased spending, thus explaining why 10-year yields on bonds increased. Therefore, the election outcome is more influenced by the FPI trend than by the typical year-end activities. Since India’s macros have not gotten so severe, I don’t think FPIs would continue to sell significantly in December,” Pandey added.
